Forklift Training
Earn your QCTO-accredited Occupational Certificate as a certified forklift operator. 5-day intensive forklift training — 2 days theory, 3 days on real machines. Free accommodation available. Only R1,500.
South Africa's logistics, warehousing, and manufacturing sectors run on certified forklift operators. The rapid growth of e-commerce, distribution infrastructure, and retail supply chains has created sustained, high demand for qualified operators across Gauteng and nationwide. At Real Skills Technical FET, our forklift training delivers the QCTO-accredited Occupational Certificate, real hands-on machine hours, and direct employment support — all within a focused 5-day course for just R1,500.
Forklift Training — 2 Days Theory, 3 Days Practical
Our forklift operator course is a QCTO-accredited Occupational Certificate programme delivered over five consecutive working days. The first two days are spent in the classroom covering forklift mechanics, safety legislation, load theory, and operational principles. Days three through five move to the warehouse training yard for supervised operation on real industrial forklifts.
This is not a simulator course. From Day 3, every student operates an actual forklift under the direct guidance of our certified instructors. With a maximum of 12 students per cohort and a strict 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio during practical sessions, you receive the individual attention needed to become job-ready in five days.

Why Get Certified as a Forklift Operator?
The logistics and warehousing industry is one of South Africa's fastest-growing employment sectors. Certified forklift operators are in demand year-round across Gauteng, the Western Cape, and KwaZulu-Natal. Here's why this qualification delivers real career value:
Strong Starting Salary
Entry-level forklift operators earn R12,000–R18,000 per month. With experience and multi-machine skills, operators earn R25,000+ plus overtime and shift allowances.
E-Commerce Driven Demand
South Africa's online retail boom has created thousands of new warehouse positions. Major distribution centres for retail chains, courier companies, and FMCG brands are continuously hiring certified operators.
Clear Career Path
Start as a forklift operator, advance to team leader, warehouse supervisor, or logistics coordinator. Your QCTO certificate is the foundation for every step up the career ladder.
Year-Round Availability
Unlike construction or mining, warehouse and logistics work is largely year-round. Operators in cold storage, FMCG, and pharmaceutical distribution rarely experience the seasonal gaps common in other sectors.
Recognised Qualification
Your QCTO Occupational Certificate is nationally recognised and portable across all employers. It meets SAQA standards and satisfies employer compliance requirements under the OHS Act.
Fast Entry to Employment
At just 5 days, forklift training is one of the fastest routes to formal employment in South Africa. Our graduates have started work within 10 days of completing training.
Where Do Certified Forklift Operators Work?
A QCTO forklift operator certificate opens doors across South Africa's widest employment sectors:
Warehousing & Logistics
Distribution centres, courier hubs, 3PL warehouses, and FMCG fulfilment operations — the largest employer of forklift operators nationwide.
Manufacturing
Assembly plants, packaging lines, steel yards, and production warehouses. Auto, food & beverage, and industrial manufacturing all rely on certified forklift operators.
Retail & Wholesale
Supermarket distribution centres, builders' merchants, and wholesale cash-and-carry operations. Many major retail brands run their own forklift fleets.
Ports & Freight
Container terminal operations, freight forwarding yards, and air cargo facilities use heavy-capacity forklifts requiring certified, experienced operators.
Agriculture & Agri-Processing
Grain silos, packhouses, cold storage facilities, and fertiliser distribution depots operate forklifts year-round across South Africa's agricultural regions.
Mining & Construction
Surface mine stores, construction site laydowns, and pre-cast concrete yards regularly employ forklift-certified operators for materials handling duties.
